Bangkok: In a significant reshuffle, the Cabinet has approved a series of key appointments within the Prime Minister’s Office, aimed at bolstering the government’s administrative capabilities. Mr. Jirayu Huangtrakul, spokesman for the Prime Minister’s Office, announced the outcomes of the recent Cabinet meeting, stating that the proposed appointments were sanctioned to enhance the efficiency of government operations.
According to Thai News Agency, the Cabinet has appointed three prominent political figures as proposed by the Office of the Prime Minister. Police General Roy Ingkhaipiroj has been named as an Advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Phumtham Wechayachai. Additionally, Mr. Karom Polpornklang of the Bhumjaithai Party and Ms. Sasikarn Wattanachan of the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party have been appointed as Deputy Spokespersons of the Prime Minister’s Office. These appointments will take effect from November 5, 2024.
Furthermore, the Cabinet meeting also sanctioned the appointment of 11 assistant min
isters, following a request by the Office of the Prime Minister. The newly appointed assistant ministers include General Niphat Thonglek, Pol. Maj. Gen. Surasit Sangkhaphong, Ms. Nahathai Thiwphaingam, Mr. Niyom Wechakama, and Ms. Supaporn Kongwutthipanya, among others. These appointments are effective immediately from the date the Prime Minister signed the announcement, with the Prime Minister granting approval.
