Kalasin, The Khok Nong Na Isan Pla Ra Festival has begun, bringing together the best products from the Khok Nong Na project and the best Pla Ra from over 20 provinces throughout the Northeast for sale, increasing income for households and communities.

Mr. Thawatchai Rotngam and Mr. Rujtisak Rangsi, Deputy Governors of Kalasin Province, opened the ‘Khok Nong Na Pla Ra Isan’ event by scooping a jar of fermented fish sauce as a symbol that the event had begun. The event was held in front of Kalasin Provincial Hall, organized by the Kalasin Provincial Community Development Office and its network partners, OTOP entrepreneurs, and various professional groups to gather the best products from Khok Nong Na and the best fermented fish sauce from various provinces in the Northeast, all in one place for the first time, to increase marketing channels and increase sales of OTOP products for villagers and communities in the Northeast.

In particular, Kalasin Pla Ra is considered a major source of Pla Ra, with 152 local Pl
a Ra brands. In addition, being a ‘Black Water City’ or a city of black soil and moist water, which is rich in abundance, has resulted in more than 2,800 groups of outstanding and unique OTOP products, or more than 5,000 products. Last year, sales were as high as 5,500 million baht, and in 2024, the target is 6,950 million baht.
