Chiang Mai, Police in Region 5 arrested a young man from Lamphun who tricked children and young women into having sex before filming the incident and posting it for sale in a secret group. The investigation led to the arrest of several customers, including a monk.
Mr. Parames, 20, was arrested by police at his home in Mae Tha District, Lamphun Province, after he lured girls and young women aged 12-22 to have sex and commit indecent acts. Most of the girls were from Lampang and Chiang Mai Provinces. He would then record the clips and post them for sale in a secret group for members. He was initially charged with human trafficking, sexual assault of a child under the age of 13, abducting a child under the age of 15 from their parents for indecent acts, forcing, inducing, or encouraging a child to perform or act indecently in order to receive compensation or to procure them.
Police also expanded the arrest of customers who went to buy and watch the clip. It was found that there were hundreds of people from al
l over the country, but they were able to identify and arrest 6 people. They were both ordinary people, businessmen, and monks in Chumphon Province. Arrest warrants were issued for 5 people and there are still many more who are waiting to identify themselves in order to issue arrest warrants.
