Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, recently extended a warm welcome to the 67th National Defense College delegation during their study visit to the Ministry of Interior. The delegation, led by Lieutenant General Thaksin Sirisingha, Director of the National Defense College, consisted of executives, lecturers, and student representatives from the National Defense Course Class 67. This visit marked the orientation session for the academic year 2024-2025 for students of the National Defense College under the National Defense Studies Institute.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Anutin, an alumnus of NDC Class 2018, addressed the delegation by outlining the Ministry of Interior’s mission. He emphasized the ministry’s commitment to improving the well-being and quality of life for citizens through its core duties. These duties are categorized into three main areas: internal security affairs, community development and local government promotion, and public disasters and urb
an development. Key organizations involved include the Department of Provincial Administration, Department of Lands, Department of Community Development, and multiple state enterprises like the Metropolitan Electricity Authority and the Wastewater Management Organization.
Mr. Anutin also highlighted five main policies prioritized by the Ministry of Interior. These include maintaining social order, tackling drug-related issues in collaboration with law enforcement, fostering career opportunities post-COVID-19, enhancing community tourism alongside the grassroots economy, and ensuring access to quality drinking water for all citizens. He underscored the importance of collaborative efforts between the business and government sectors to drive national development, facilitated by networks established through the National Defence College.
He concluded by emphasizing the significance of the National Defense College in fostering strong relationships and collaboration among its members, which he believes is crucial
for addressing national challenges and crises. The sense of brotherhood among the college’s alumni facilitates cooperation and collective problem-solving.
Ms. Traisuree Traisaranakul, Secretary to the Minister of Interior, noted that several senior executives from the Ministry of Interior joined the welcoming event. This included Mr. Boonjong Wongtrairat, Assistant Minister to the Ministry of Interior, and other high-ranking officials from various departments within the ministry, all of whom have strong associations with the National Defense College.
