Anutin Leads Ministry Executives to Promote Tourism at Phra That Phanom

NAKHON PHANOM: Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, spearheaded a delegation of senior ministry executives and governors from the Northeastern region to pay homage to Phra That Phanom, a significant cultural and religious landmark, in a bid to bolster tourism and invigorate the local economy.

According to Thai News Agency, the event took place at Wat Phra That Phanom Woramahawihan, in Nakhon Phanom Province, where Mr. Anutin and his team, comprising heads of government agencies, district chiefs, and local administrative leaders, participated in a traditional ceremony. The group was warmly welcomed by Phra Maha Ari Plathiko, Assistant Abbot of the temple, who led the proceedings, which included wrapping the revered statue in cloth.

This pilgrimage forms part of a broader initiative to ensure the effective implementation of government and Ministry of Interior policies aimed at enhancing the quality of life through economic empowerment. The ministry seeks to identify provinc
ial strengths and collaborate with private enterprises to expand trade and tourism, thereby creating new income opportunities for local communities.

Mr. Anutin emphasized the importance of Phra That Phanom as a provincial landmark and directed the governor of Nakhon Phanom to work with local stakeholders, including educational institutions and private sectors, to further develop the site. The goal is to enhance the tourist experience and stimulate economic growth by drawing visitors and distributing financial benefits across the grassroots economy.
