Anutin” led a meeting of the DDPM to find a conclusion on granting authority to relevant persons to prepare a statement of defense against the lawsuit regarding the resolution of the problem of the spread of the black-chinned tilapia, to be submitted to the court within the specified time frame.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul revealed that the 1/2567 National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Committee meeting was a meeting to monitor the progress of solving the problem and the impacts from the outbreak of the black-chinned tilapia, which caused economic and environmental damage. Today, the meeting will conclude on the authorization of relevant persons or agencies to be able to submit a statement of defense to the lawsuit within the specified time, as ordered by the Central Administrative Court to call for the National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Committee to submit a statement of defense to the lawsuit in the administrative case, case number Sor. 14/2567, which is
a lawsuit related to solving the problem of the outbreak of the black-chinned tilapia. The statement of defense to the lawsuit must be submitted to the Central Administrative Court within 30 days from the date of receipt of the order (September 23, 2567).

As for the progress in solving the problem of the spread of the black-chinned tilapia, the Minister of the Interior said that he must inquire about the progress from the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives. As for the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM), its main role is to prevent and mitigate public disasters, which are natural disasters as the name suggests. The spread of the black-chinned tilapia originated from imports from abroad, which is considered beyond the DDPM’s scope of responsibility.
