Deputy PM Anutin denies PM discussing constitutional amendment outside of session after being pressed for questions, stating his concern for solving flooding problems, hastening damage survey, setting high criteria for compensation to help victims

Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul spoke after standing with Prime Minister Paethongtarn Shinawatra at a press conference and was asked by the media about the Bhumjaithai Party changing its mind about supporting the Pheu Thai Party in amending the constitution regarding the ethics of politicians. The Prime Minister went up to eat and discuss with Anutin and the leaders of the coalition parties again after being asked by the media for more than 40 minutes.

Mr. Anutin denied that the Prime Minister did not discuss amending the constitution, but only talked about the flooding because he was worried and looking for a solution. He said that Mr. Arsit Sampantharat, Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration and acting P
ermanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, must urgently make a list of households damaged by the flooding because it is a household, not an individual person. Therefore, the highest criteria for helping villagers must be set, which is the responsibility of the Ministry of Interior and is currently in the process. The guidelines have already been given that no disaster areas have been declared by each district. Whichever district is affected by the disaster should be declared immediately.
