Anutin” denies there is any politics in the Ministry of Interior regarding the villagers’ dissatisfaction with the appointment of the former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior as the governor of Songkhla. He insists that the cabinet resolution has passed and nothing can be done. He asks for time to work before re-evaluating the results.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul spoke about the case where the Ministry of Interior issued an order appointing Chotinnarin Keotsom, former deputy permanent secretary of the Ministry of Interior, to the position of governor of Songkhla Province, which was opposed by locals because it may be related to politics within the Ministry of Interior. He said that this matter had passed the Cabinet resolution and had been screened by the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Interior and himself, so nothing could be changed. As for the dissatisfaction that occurred, it was something that the governor had to come to an understanding with
the locals.

As for the issue that the Songkhla governor is close to him, Mr. Anutin said that he had never heard of this. He has many close people in the ministry, such as Mr. Arsit Sampantharat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior. But why did he choose Mr. Arsit to hold this position? We look at his skills, suitability and work performance.

Mr. Anutin reiterated that all provincial governors must take care of their areas as best as possible. Everyone has a trial period. The ministers can only do this much: serve people, manage work, and evaluate their work, which takes several months to evaluate. If anyone has poor performance, there are other ways to fix it. But in the end, the evaluator is the commander, which is the minister.
