This incident occurred at approximately 9:00 p.m. last night (July 19, 2014) in a village in Phraeksa Mai Subdistrict, Mueang District, Samut Prakan Province. Bang Pu Police Station officers intervened to stop the incident. Rescue workers rushed to provide first aid to the injured person, who had a head wound.

While Mr. Thaweechok, the village vice president, said that he received a report from a villager that Mr. Niran had been attacking villagers, harassing women, and chasing after motorcycles. He rushed to stop the incident but was attacked instead. Similarly, another villager said that recently Mr. Niran has been acting more violently and more frequently, both morning, afternoon, and evening. He was informed that he is being treated for a mental illness and may not be taking his medication regularly.

The officers took Mr. Niran to be treated for his injuries and mental illness.
