This morning, there were few MPs attending the parliamentary meeting after the Move Forward Party was dissolved.

Internal Affairs

Parliament, Former MPs from the Move Forward Party entered the parliament meeting in small numbers, still performing their duty of introducing themselves as the party chosen by the people with 14 million votes, leaving with 9 votes, while the quorum number decreased to 493 people.

Today’s (8th August) House of Representatives meeting was chaired by Mr. Wan Muhammad Noor Matha, the Speaker of the House of Representatives. The meeting started at 9:30 a.m. The atmosphere today was rather quiet, especially for the 10-13 former Move Forward Party MPs who attended the meeting. Each of them had a rather tense expression. Some were indifferent and did not go to talk to their fellow members. Meanwhile, officials from the Secretariat of the House of Representatives removed the Move Forward Party signs yesterday (7th August) after the Constitutional Court ordered the dissolution of the Move Forward Party.

143 former Move Forward Party MPs are still acting as representatives of the people to discuss the problems of loc
al people in various areas. They will introduce themselves before the discussion as former Move Forward Party MPs who came from 14 votes of the people, but 9 votes were lost when the party was dissolved, such as Mr. Sathit Thaweephon, Lopburi MP, Mr. Kantaphon Duang-amporn, while Ms. Phuthita Chaianan introduced herself and said that she left her heart during the discussion that “I ask that those in power in this country see the people’s heads.”

Mr. Nitipol Piw-at, MP of the party list, asked to discuss the problem of the collapse of the Thai ecosystem because the ministers who were ignorant and did not care came to the parliament, which led to the problem of black-chinned tilapia escaping into rivers, canals, and most recently into the sea. This is not a problem that is far from the people because the people who live near the fish sauce sources that they used to catch and eat will no longer have any to eat. As for the people in the southern region, they will no longer have shrimp, shellfish, crabs, and fish
to eat. Pol. Gen. Patcharawat Wongsuwan, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, is the person who should come out and take the most responsibility, but he has never been interested in coming to the parliament. Therefore, I hope that in the future he will come to answer the question about the black-striped tilapia escaping into the Thai ecosystem because he is the chairman of the National Environment Commission, but he could not prevent the black-striped tilapia from escaping into the ecosystem. The National Environmental Quality Promotion and Conservation Act of 1992 stipulates that those who neglect to cause damage to the Thai ecosystem, which is considered a natural resource of the country, must be responsible for all damages. Therefore, I would like to ask the President of the House of Representatives to forward this matter to the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment to take action.

The reporter also reported that in the case of the Move Forward Party being dissolved, 5 former Move Forwar
d Party MPs must leave their positions and will not move up the party list because the party has already been dissolved. The remaining 143 party list MPs will move to a new party within 60 days according to the law. At the same time, there is Mr. Padipat Santipada, former MP of the Pheu Thai Party in Phitsanulok Province who must be re-elected, and 1 MP of the Bhumjaithai Party in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province who must stop performing their duties due to a complaint about the election results. Therefore, the number of MPs in the House of Representatives who can perform their duties at present is 493.
