Thieves cut the wires of an EV charging cabinet

Miscellaneous

A thief sneaked in and cut the charging cables of an EV at a gas station, causing damages worth over 300,000 baht. The owner recently filed a police report and offered a 10,000 baht reward for information leading to the arrest.

The CCTV footage captured the thief as a tall man wearing a blue shirt, approximately 30-40 years old, riding a motorcycle with an unknown license plate and parking it near the bathroom before pretending to walk past the bathroom to avoid the camera’s view, going around to the back and appearing on the other side where the EV charging station is located. He used a wire cutter to take it, put it on the motorcycle, rode it away once before coming back to steal it again.

At Bang Bua Thong Police Station, Tambon Laharn, Amphoe Bang Bua Thong, Nonthaburi Province, Mr. Chonlathar, 28 years old (company representative), went to file a complaint after in the late night of August 7, a thief broke in and stole a 120 fiber optic cable used for charging EVs inside a gas station on Ban Kluai-Sai
Noi Road.

Mr. Chonlathar said that he was informed by the gas station staff that the electric car charging cabinet wires were stolen, which was during the installation process. From watching the CCTV clip, the thief rode a motorcycle in alone. He should be knowledgeable and skilled. He probably brought large cutting pliers because if he used a saw, it would take several hours. The thief cut 4 wires. After cutting the wires, the thief carried the wires onto his motorcycle and left once, then rode back in to carry the remaining wires away again. The damage is worth over 300,000 baht, not including other equipment. The company has offered a reward of 10,000 baht for anyone who can provide information leading to the arrest of the thief. You can report it to Bang Bua Thong Police Station. – Thai News Agency
