Udon Thani, The Prime Minister visited Udon Phichit Raksa Pittaya School, showed off his basketball shooting and scored 3 goals, the children screamed and took pictures, before giving a policy to fight against drugs, asking for the future of the nation to be far away.

At 3:00 p.m., Prime Minister Settha Thavisin traveled to meet students from Udon Phichit Raksa Pittaya School in Tambon Chiang Pin, Amphoe Mueang Udon, Udon Thani Province. Immediately upon arrival, the Prime Minister walked to the basketball court where the school’s basketball players were practicing. The basketball players asked the Prime Minister, ‘Prime Minister, play basketball with me.’ The Prime Minister replied, ‘Right now, my arm hurts.’ The basketball players let the Prime Minister try shooting a basketball. The Prime Minister showed off by shooting five basketballs, but only three of them scored, which received loud screams and applause from the students.

Later, at the flagpole square, the Prime Minister greeted the students in Eng
lish, saying that he was very pleased to be at this school. He had visited Udon Thani Province today to discuss drug issues, since the time he was campaigning until he became Prime Minister. He had been to Udon Thani Province many times, and a major problem in Thai society is income. Another major problem is drug issues. He believes that every student here probably knows someone who is addicted to drugs. We are trying to solve this problem, but the root of the problem really needs to be instilled from a young age. At the same time, the Prime Minister asked the students if they must stay away from drugs, to which the students answered yes.

The Prime Minister continued that he wanted them to be diligent in their studies and to take care of the elderly in the home. Another most important thing that parents do not want their children to touch is drugs. We have good schools and teachers who teach all the children neurology. Today, we have studied hard for many years. Drugs can destroy the future of all of us. The
refore, I would like to ask the teachers here to continuously instill the problem of drugs, so that we must stay away from drugs because we are all the future of the nation. Therefore, if drugs come into our lives, our future will be bleak. I would like to leave you with this: This is a big issue and I am glad to have come and would like to come again. I want to continue playing basketball, but my shoulder hurts so I can’t play. Next time, if I come again, I will come and do activities with everyone.

The student council president then pledged not to get involved with drugs. The prime minister took a photo with the students, having fun and being friendly, amidst the screams of the students, before returning to Bangkok.
