The Prime Minister is concerned about the people affected by the floods and confirmed that he will find relief measures. He is preparing to visit Sukhothai Province on 30 Aug.

Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, spoke about the delay in the establishment of the Cabinet, expressing concern for the administration of the country, especially the flooding issue, saying that this is the issue that she is most concerned about, more than the Cabinet, because the list of candidates is still under the examination of qualifications.

Regarding the recent flooding, I have spoken with Mr. Phumtham Vejjayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, acting on behalf of the Prime Minister. He confirmed that it was not an official order, but rather out of concern about the compensation for flood victims. From going down to the area, I saw that the people affected had to move their belongings to higher ground, their houses were destroyed, and diseases came with the water. Therefore, I would like to see the
best compensation possible because people have to spend money to repair their houses. Although compensation is already available, I would like to go into detail about how much compensation can be provided. What can the remaining central budget help with? We will have to look into the details. I would like to emphasize that I am very determined to provide compensation because I truly sympathize with the people.

On Friday, August 30, we plan to visit Sukhothai Province to monitor the water situation, if nothing changes. -316
