Opposition prepares to raise live questions to the government about solving the flood problem, confirms that MPs of the people went to the area to help the victims even though they did not see the media, emphasizes the need to reform the army, not to abolish or devalue the military after the military went to help people.

Mr. Pakornwut Udompipatsakul, Chairman of the Coordinating Committee of the Opposition Parties (Opposition Whip), said that this week’s House of Representatives meeting will consider new draft laws proposed by the Cabinet, including the draft of the Progressive Liquor Act by Mr. Thaophipop Limjittrakarn, Bangkok MP of the Prachachon Party.

For the House of Representatives meeting on September 19, the opposition is preparing to ask live questions about the flood situation and the implementation in many dimensions, including the management of compensation in the future to prevent such incidents. They also confirmed that the Chiang Rai MP of the Prachachon Party has been going to the area to
coordinate assistance since before the situation and has been going to the area continuously. In addition, there are MPs from neighboring provinces and the Prachachon Party’s party-list MPs going to help everyone and work to their fullest. They may not see it in the media much, but it’s okay because they understand that when they go to work, it will be difficult for the media to follow up. Some areas are difficult to access. Meanwhile, the Prachachon Party will use the parliamentary mechanism to help solve the flood problem, both by asking live questions and having a team behind the scenes. The Prachachon Party will collect information that will be useful to the people or just a suggestion for the government.

As for the dramatic issue of devaluing the military, which the People’s Party campaigned for the military all the time, but during the floods, the military had to be used to help, Mr. Pakornwut said that we campaigned for the military to not be involved in politics and to do their duty to the fullest. A
s for helping the people, it is not wrong and we never wanted the military to be abolished, but we want to reform the military to do its duty better, including abolishing the mandatory military draft, which some people do not want to be or do not have the potential due to their weak bodies or lack of inspiration to want to be. How can we make the military useful to the country?
