Kanika” reveals that the government is moving forward with the “Beautiful Canal, Clear Water” project, assigning all agencies to work together in an integrated manner to maintain the beauty of the canal in honor of His Majesty the King.

Ms. Kanika Ounjit, Deputy Government Spokesperson, said that the government led by Prime Minister Settha Thavisin has recognized the importance of the environment to create good health for Thais through the Beautiful Canal, Clear Water, Happy Thais Project to honor His Majesty the King on the occasion of His Majesty the King’s 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary on July 28, 2024, in order to continue His Majesty’s steadfast determination to continue, preserve, and develop, and help make good things happen in the country, leading to the happiness of the people and the stability of the country, as stated in the first royal address, ‘We will continue, preserve, and develop, and rule the country with righteousness for the benefit and happiness of the people forever.’

inued that the problem of deterioration of rivers, canals and various water sources, the government therefore wants to develop rivers, canals and various water sources that have deteriorated over time to return to their beauty and the benefits that will be gained from water sources, whether it be people’s residences, transportation routes or water drainage efficiency to help prevent flooding, as well as create a livable, strong and safe society, which is a sustainable development of people’s quality of life, such as the Prem Prachakon Canal Development Project, which is a pilot project to develop canals and surrounding communities according to the royal policy of His Majesty the King.
