Hundreds of relatives, friends, and locals attended the funeral of Second Lieutenant Suthep or Tum, a 48-year-old rider who fell victim to a robber who tricked him into being murdered and robbed his car and used it to rob a gold shop in a famous shopping mall in Chiang Mai six days ago. The ceremony was held at Wat Cho and Phra Ngam and a cemetery near his home in Tambon Cho Lae, Amphoe Mae Taeng, Chiang Mai Province, amidst the grief and sorrow of his family and attendees. The deceased was a good, hardworking person who was the breadwinner of his family. He worked as a driver, trainer, and volunteer to take care of his nearly 80-year-old mother and nearly 90-year-old bedridden aunt. He was studying to get a degree for his mother
, but his life unexpectedly ended.

The ceremony included a 15-year-old son who was ordained as a monk to dedicate merit to his father’s soul, as well as the deceased’s 79-year-old mother who traveled to see her son off for the last time after never having attended the funeral rites because she could not come to terms with it. As for the bedridden aunt, her relatives did not dare tell her the truth for fear that her illness would worsen.

Ms. Kritsana, the deceased’s older sister, revealed that she was grateful to those who came to the funeral, including those who sent encouragement and money to help the family, which will be used to take care of the mother and aunt, according to the wishes of the deceased younger brother.
