“Lt. Col. Thammanat” leads 22 MPs from the Palang Pracharath Party to announce that this group will definitely form the government. Tomorrow, they will know the names clearly. They said that there are MPs and small parties that are joining. They stated that if the Palang Pracharath Party does not expel them from the party, they will stay like this. Meanwhile, “Santi’s” wife appeared to join the group.

Lt. Col. Thammanat Prompao, Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives and Secretary-General of the Palang Pracharath Party, along with 22 Palang Pracharath MPs, including Ms. Wanphen Promphat, wife of Mr. Santi Promphat, deputy party leader, also joined. In addition, there are 7 other MPs who are on their way.

By Lt. Col. Thammanat, who confirmed that today is not a press conference to respond, but there are brothers and sisters who have shared both happiness and suffering to give encouragement in performing their duties with him and Mr. Attakorn Sirilathayakorn, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, to maintain the
unity for the country, which is the most important thing. Importantly, he has a clear intention to have his own position in working for the country and thanked the MPs who are representatives of the people from all regions, including Kamphaeng Phet, Phetchabun, Ratchaburi, Narathiwat, Songkhla, Chaiyaphum, Roi Et, Phayao, Chon Buri, Kalasin, Mae Hong Son, Trat, and Chiang Mai, which we are clear that we are going together.

When asked about Paiboon Nititawan, deputy party leader, coming to the Ministry of Agriculture, Lt. Col. Thammanat said that he and Paiboon have worked together since 2018 and respect each other. Today, Paiboon came to give encouragement and talk, and he replied that he did not set out to quarrel with anyone, but asked them to have their own position because he had been with the PPRP since it was still jelly, created the party, oversaw the election in 2019 until today, and had done his best.

When asked about how to start submitting the names of ministers from this group of MPs, Lt. Col. T
hammanat said that at this time, the government leaders will let the acting ministers decide and discuss. It is not like our party will do anything without asking the leaders of the government formation. Absolutely not, because it is a matter of etiquette.

“I would like to confirm that the 22 PPRP MPs standing here and the 7 who are on their way are all part of the government. In addition, there are representatives of small parties joining us,” said Lt. Col. Thammanat.

When asked again whether the PPRP MPs who live in Ban Pa Roi Tor would not join the government, Lt. Col. Thammanat said, ‘Don’t say that. We will not interfere with outsiders who are not standing here.’

When asked what name was being sent to the government leaders, Lt. Col. Thammanat said that it was in the name of his group, the Palang Pracharath Party, and that we were one. There were just some groups that were trying to create division. As the majority of MPs who came to ask him to be their representative, he confirmed that if he was not
expelled at this time, he would still stand where he was. If there was a meeting at the parliament, the government would go in whichever direction it went. He also said that today, Mr. Santi had sent his wife to join him.

Will he still be a minister? Lt. Col. Thammanat said, “Let’s just say we’re in the government.” As for who will send the names to the Pheu Thai Party tomorrow, Lt. Col. Thammanat reiterated that we’ll know tomorrow morning (August 21).

When asked again whether he was still the Minister of Agriculture, Lt. Col. Thammanat said that the government leader must be respected in deciding who to choose. It is the Prime Minister’s power.

When asked if he had submitted his own name, Lt. Col. Thammanat declined to answer, saying only to wait and see tomorrow, otherwise it would be news. As for whether he had only submitted one name, he did not know.

Before sending the list, did you talk to the government leaders? Lt. Col. Thammanat said that in the past, he was the only coordinator, along with Mr.
Santi.

When asked if the list has been sent, will there be a clearer picture tomorrow morning? Lt. Col. Thammanat replied that it was something like that.

As for whether Thaksin Shinawatra will go to the Pheu Thai Party if he gives the green light, Lt. Col. Thammanat said, ‘How can he go? He hasn’t expelled him yet. In the case that the party doesn’t move forward, we will stay in this group.’ As for whether it will affect the work, he confirmed that the work in the parliament is going in the same direction as the government. He believes that many PPRP MPs know what the future holds. No one wants to be in the opposition.

In this case, can it be said that there are 2 groups of MPs in the PPRP, one group has continued, the other group is heartbroken? Lt. Col. Thammanat said that it was something like that.

When asked about the previous statement that Ta Yu would take it to eat, Lt. Col. Thammanat said that today, many of us have come, from every province.

If the Pheu Thai core members choose MPs from the Ba
n Pa side, what will happen to this group of MPs? Lt. Col. Thammanat immediately replied that this question is impossible, like asking if fish can fly. As for whether there is a chance that the two groups will come back together, he would like to ask them to talk only about today.

When asked if he had informed Prime Minister Paethongtongtarn Shinawatra that the discussion was over, Lt. Col. Thammanat said that he had not informed anyone, but had spoken with the Cabinet Secretary and the acting Prime Minister, and everything was clear. He would wait for the results tomorrow. As for whether the quota would remain at 4 seats, that depended on the Prime Minister.
