Internal Affairs

Government House, “Phumtham”, Minister of Commerce, revealed that the 10-year rice inspection committee will send the qualifications of the auction company to the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives today.

Mr. Phumtham Vejchai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, mentioned the observations on the issue of whether the companies participating in the rice auction were nominees or not, saying that the committee to examine the qualifications of those bidding for government stockpiled rice or 10-year rice that he had appointed would present the matter to the Director of the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives today. Currently, the companies participating in the auction that passed the qualifications, ranked 1st to 3rd, are clear. The first place bidder offered 19 baht, while the third place bid 16 baht. The highest price is the highest price for the benefit of the nation because in the past, there were objections from the media about whether the companies participating in
the auction were joint nominees or not. Now, the committee is examining every company to see if the observations that the media suspects are qualified according to the conditions or not. It is expected that a conclusion will be reached as early as this week and no later than 30 days or by July. If within the specified time frame, there is still no conclusion, there will have to be a discussion on whether to cancel the auction or continue until a conclusion is reached.
