The Director-General of the Office of the Vocational Education Commission (OVEC) has set up a fact-finding committee to investigate the news that the ‘Director of Surin Non-Formal Education Center’ was sleeping at home and receiving his salary, only coming to work during important meetings. Recently, Mr. Thanakorn Donnuea, Director-General of the Department of Non-Formal Education (DNF), ordered the establishment of a fact-finding committee and urged the fact-finding committee to make a report on the facts and submit a report immediately, whether there is evidence as appeared or not. He also ordered the commanding officer of the accused to report the progress to him. If wrongdoing is found, disciplinary punishment will be imposed, which must be fair to all parties. Dr. Panya said that he learned about the news from the media yesterday (September 18) while he was inspecting work in a different district. He therefore rushed back and called the director in question and set up a fact-finding committee to investigate whether he had behaved inappropriately as reported. The initial answers received
were compiled and reported to the Director-General of the Department of Labor Protection and Welfare. The next step is for the committee to visit the school board, teachers, students, community leaders, and heads of various government agencies in Si Narong District. They will visit the area tomorrow (September 20). It will take no more than a week to investigate and conclude the facts.

The reporter reported that there is currently information that there is a person who pretends to be a senior person in the province and will set up an investigation committee to help and has the director who was complained about prepare 6-8 envelopes of money, 20,000 baht per envelope, to clear things up.
