Democrats move forward with their duty to scrutinize the government. “Romtham” asks the new Prime Minister to quickly solve the people’s problems as promised in the election campaign: “Thai people have honor, dignity, and have food and money to spend together.”

Mr. Romtham Khamnuarak, deputy party spokesman and Democrat MP for Pattalung Province, said that the election of the 31st Prime Minister has already passed. The meeting approved Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra as Prime Minister. After this, the cabinet will be appointed and a policy statement will be made to the parliament.

Therefore, I would like to ask the Prime Minister to urgently solve the people’s problems, including the economy, politics, governance, quality of life, and the environment, which the previous government could not do anything about. The Democrat Party will follow the cabinet’s policy statement to the parliament because it wants to see changes from the previous government’s policies, which were only beautiful words, not tangible, and
could not be done for almost a year.

Mr. Romtham added that what the people are interested in right now is the economic policy, especially the digital wallet project, whether it will still exist or not because there are about 30 million people who have already registered and are waiting for an answer from the government.

They also want to see changes in the cabinet positions because they see that some ministers in the previous group were unable to produce tangible results, or in other words, did not do any substantial work. Even when assigned to be the speakers in the parliament, they did not come to answer questions from MPs who acted as representatives of the people.

“I hope we will see changes from the new prime minister. I hope to see tangible work. I hope that this new prime minister will listen to the people’s problems and come to answer questions from MPs in the parliament himself. Most importantly, I hope that the new prime minister will make “Thai people have honor, dignity, and have food and mone
y to spend together” as he promised in his campaign,” said Mr. Romtham.
