PM delighted with 16.5 million ‘digital wallet’ registrations on first day

Bangkok, The Prime Minister revealed that the number of ‘Digital Wallet’ registrations from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. exceeded 16.5 million people. He believes that in the first 2 days, the number will exceed 20 million people. He said that the system did not crash as many parties were worried about. He confirmed that everything is according to the timeline. He believes that the ‘government’ app will be a ‘shortcut’ to lead the country to a digital society.

Prime Minister Settha Thavisin posted a message via the X application after the government opened registration for the public to receive the 10,000 baht digital wallet project on August 1, 2024.

The Prime Minister stated that the registration for the digital wallet project is open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and more than 16.5 million people have already participated.

There may be some hiccups for some, but from the first minute until now, the registration system is still running smoothly, not crashing as some parties were worried about. While officers fro
m many agencies have opened more than 5,000 points to advise the public, they are doing their jobs efficiently.

It is believed that in the first 2 days, there will be over 20 million registrants, which is considered a concrete response to the people’s policy. It is confirmed that everything will proceed according to the steps and the time frame is certain.

The Prime Minister also stated that this is an economic stimulus measure that is out of the box but is within the law. We will not stop at just 6 months of spending money on the project, but the “Thang Rat” application will be a shortcut to lead Thailand into a digital society.

By 2025, hundreds of government services will be able to transact comprehensively through this app. Let’s move forward together.
