PM confirms full work after scrutiny of Constitutional Court ruling on August 14

Internal Affairs

Government House, “Srettha” insists on working to the fullest as long as he is still the Prime Minister after being closely watched for the Constitutional Court’s ruling on August 14th. He ignored the Palang Pracharath Party members who teased him, viewing it as an internal matter of the PPRP. He said there was no need to clear things up with “Lt. Col. Thammanat”, pointing out that if it was good, he would listen. If it was not good, it would go in one ear and out the other.

Prime Minister Settha Thavisin gave an interview about the case of the Constitutional Court’s ruling on the qualifications of the Prime Minister in the case of appointing Pichit Chuenban as Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office. He said that the political situation after August 14 confirmed that the closing statement had been signed and sent since last Tuesday (July 30) and that it was in the justice process. He did not want to interfere in whether he was confident or not, but he was confident that he had done it with honesty and integ
rity.

Regarding the news about a reserve prime minister, Mr. Settha said that it is up to each person to think about it, but today he is working to his full potential and is still the prime minister.

As for the court’s decision on August 14, I accept it. I believe that the political process has steps. But today, as long as I am still the prime minister, I will work to my fullest. As for the coalition parties, we have had good discussions, but I have not met Pol. Gen. Patcharawat Wongsuwan, the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, for several days. I understand that he is sick, so I wish him well. But last night, I met Colonel Thammanat Prompao, the Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, at the funeral. We had a good discussion.

When asked about the case of members of the Palang Pracharath Party teasing the Prime Minister, did it cause any hesitation in working? Mr. Settha stated that it did not at all because it was their internal matter. He had never known about it before. And as he said, the
word teasing has many meanings. Personally, he focused more on the content. If they came to suggest something good, whether it was from the same party or the opposition party, he was happy to listen and take it to correct and implement. But if it was something that was a matter of teasing without reason, he said that it went in one ear and out the other.

When asked if Colonel Thammanat had come to explain the reason why his party members came out to do this, the Prime Minister said no, and Colonel Thammanat knew him well. He thought it would be better not to waste time talking about these things, but to talk about the black-chinned tilapia or about work, about the Royal Irrigation Department that will be taking care of it. He thought that these things were more important. Mr. Thammanat knows me well, and I know him well. He knows what is important. What are we standing here for? We are standing for our fellow citizens. But as I said, if there is any useful advice, he is ready to listen. And if listening is a
good thing, and there must be contact and discussion with the party representatives, then there will be further discussion.

Regarding the news that the Palang Pracharath Party will be removed from the coalition government, the Prime Minister said that he has not discussed it yet. Today, let’s focus on the country’s problems.
