Parliament, “Pita” asks to use time wisely before going to hear the verdict of the party dissolution case, stands up to discuss water management issues during the parliament meeting, and advises the government to monitor and warn, and hasten to provide assistance to those affected.

Reporters reported that during the House of Representatives meeting chaired by Mr. Wan Muhammad Noor Matha, the President of the House of Representatives, Mr. Pita Limjaroenrat, MP for the party list and Chief Advisor to the leader of the Move Forward Party, took time before traveling to the Constitutional Court to listen to the reading of the court’s ruling in the case where the Election Commission (EC) filed a petition requesting an order to dissolve the Move Forward Party in the case where there was evidence to believe that the party had committed acts of overthrowing the democratic regime with the King as head of state.

Mr. Pita stood up to discuss according to the 2019 House of Representatives Meeting Regulations, Section 2
4, regarding the problem of water management, stating that it is well known that the government has already started on water management, but the saying ‘During the dry season, bring water to find people, during the rainy season, bring people to escape the water’ is still in the hearts of the people all the time. Therefore, I would like to propose 3 urgent issues: 1. Climate volatility since the beginning of 2024 when Thailand experienced the El Niño phenomenon, causing drought and heat disasters that affected agricultural products in many countries, such as crops and food crops. However, in the third quarter, the La Niña phenomenon will begin to appear, with a large amount of rainfall. Currently, it is found that 37 provinces nationwide are facing the problem, causing flooding in many provinces immediately after the rain fell for about 24-36 hours. Therefore, monitoring and warning are very important.

On the second issue of compensation for the people, Mr. Pita said that the government should provide timely
compensation to those affected because when people face problems, they have to bear unplanned expenses, whether it be transportation costs, rent, repair costs, or the cost of household items, which can lead to long-term financial accidents that are difficult to remedy.

As for the third issue, regarding inequality management through the resolution of the quality and rights to access clean water, Mr. Pita said that the proportion of households that do not have access to tap water in rural areas is as high as 12.8%, while in urban areas, only 3.3%. As a result, the poorest households in the country have to buy bottled and canned drinking water for drinking by themselves, almost 75%. Therefore, he would like to discuss with the Speaker of the House to pass to the government to show the importance of all laws related to water, including the draft bill that the Move Forward Party has proposed, because we intend to give the government the power to solve this problem to the fullest for our fellow citizens.
