ONCB, ONCB is pleased with the results of the work that meets the target as ordered by the Prime Minister, emphasizing the acceleration of drug problem resolution in 25 provinces, treatment, prevention, and suppression.

Pol. Lt. Gen. Phanurat Lakboon, Secretary-General of the ONCB, chaired the 6/2567 meeting of the Operation Center for Accelerating Treatment, Rehabilitation of Social Conditions, Prevention and Suppression of Narcotics (OCSC) at the Chitchai Wannasathit Conference Room, ONCB Office. Air Vice Marshal Dr. Boonruang Trairuangworawat, General Sunai Prapuchanay, and Pol. Col. Dussadee Arayawut joined as advisors and committee members, such as Colonel Sitthikorn Ruangjit, Army Officer, Department of Army Operations, Pol. Lt. Gen. Kirisak Tantinawachai, Commander of the Narcotics Suppression Police, Mr. Nattawat Wiriyanaphaphron, Chief Inspector-General of the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Phakhi Traipiphat, Director and Secretary of the Drug Addiction Treatment and Rehabilitation Committee, Office of
the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Public Health, etc., including the governors of 25 urgent provinces, joined the meeting with partner agencies via an online meeting system.

Pol. Lt. Gen. Phanurat talked about the past operations that he went to the area with Mr. Settha Thavisin, the Prime Minister, to announce the seizure of the chemical Toluene, which is a precursor for the production of drugs, totaling 90 tons, which is considered a huge value, reflecting the government’s determination to seriously solve the drug problem. He also mentioned the loss of 1 police officer and 2 injured from the clash with drug dealers, which the ONCB expressed its deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and injured who sacrificed for the country, and will expedite assistance and compensation to the fullest extent. In addition, from the field visit with the Prime Minister in Chiang Rai Province, it was found that drug officers
must be more careful by using the equipment supported by the ONCB to intercept in the border area to increase the efficiency of the operation and reduce the loss of life, body and property of officers.

‘For the results of the operations according to the action plan in the 25 pilot provinces, it was found that the goals were achieved in all aspects, as follows: In terms of suppression, the results of the operations have increased, such as the results of prosecuting offenders of serious drug offenses, up to 89.32%, seizing assets worth over 705 million baht, accounting for 97.60% of the target, prosecuting charges of colluding, supporting, and assisting, with 307 cases, accounting for 93.88% of the target. Results of the operations with major networks and government officials, reporting on the targets have been carried out and resolved. Major drug trafficking networks, out of the target of 233 networks, have been able to take action on 158 networks. Statistics on news of the impact of drug use in the 25 target

The implementation of probation drug users into the treatment process was carried out at over 94.11%. In terms of prevention, social order in entertainment venues, service venues, and establishments similar to entertainment venues was carried out at over 99.4% and 95.56%, respectively. Drug prevention in areas surrounding educational institutions was carried out at over 97.54%. The participation of the public sector in promoting village/community participation was over 89.7%.
In terms of the overall performance of the Ministry of Interior’s Social Rehabilitation Center, it was considered to have passed the target criteria. There were 594 patients who received assistance, which is 49.42%. In this regard, the ONCB, together with related agencies, are continuously moving forward with proactive operations, especially checking risk areas (X-Ray) to find users and dealers and bring them into the appropriate treatment proce
ss. At present, the number of people receiving treatment has reached the target. He also asked the provincial governors, provincial police commanders, provincial public health doctors, and provincial administrative organization presidents to join forces to prevent, suppress, and solve the drug problem, especially during the next 3 months, in an intensive manner, according to the Prime Minister’s order, in order to create confidence among the people and for a good quality future for our children to drive the country forward.
