Naris” entered Shinawatra Building 3 to submit the names of 2 Democrat Party quota ministers to Pheu Thai, confident in their qualifications, believing the government will last the full term.

At 11.40 am, after the Democrat Party executive committee meeting resolved to join the government with the Pheu Thai Party after being invited to join the government, today Mr. Naris Khamnuarak, deputy leader of the Democrat Party, traveled to Shinawatra Building 3 on Vibhavadi Road, which is the temporary office of the Pheu Thai Party, to submit a list of those who are qualified to hold ministerial positions in the Democrat Party’s proportion to the Pheu Thai Party as the core of the government.

Mr. Naris said that he was assigned by Mr. Chalermchai Sri-on, the leader of the Democrat Party, to submit the names of the two people who will join the government to the Pheu Thai Party, which is a list that was approved by the Democrat Party meeting yesterday (29 August). Last night, there was a meeting until late at night,
so he traveled to deliver the letter today and coordinated with Mr. Surawong Thienthong, the secretary-general of the Pheu Thai Party. However, Mr. Surawong had an engagement in Sukhothai Province with Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, the Prime Minister.

Mr. Naris added that the process from now on will have a qualification check according to the procedure. The list submitted today is in accordance with the resolution of the Democrat Party, namely, Mr. Chalermchai Sri-on, the party leader, will hold the position of Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, and Mr. Decha Isara Khaothong will hold the position of Deputy Minister of Public Health.

As for whether he is confident that there will be no problems in the future regarding the qualifications, Mr. Naris said that the party leader had already given an interview yesterday saying that he was confident in both names, but it depends on the relevant agencies’ inspection.

As for the criticism after the Democrat Party joined the government with the Pheu Thai
Party, Mr. Naris said that it was normal because we had been both the opposition and the government for a very long time, and this kind of trend has occurred every time.

When reporters asked again whether this meant that ‘there are no permanent friends or enemies,’ Mr. Naris said that it was not, because the party would push forward its policies by joining the government this time.

As for the confidence that the government will complete its term in the remaining 3 years, Mr. Naris said that it depends on the work of this government. If it works according to policies and the people are satisfied, the chance that it will complete its term is possible.

While there are people preparing to file complaints about the qualifications of ministers, which could cause the prime minister to be removed from office, Mr. Naris admitted that there are indeed many cases of this, but those who will hold the position must be firm, because scrutiny of public figures can happen at any time.
