Government House, May 27 – The State Fiscal Policy Committee approves an additional budget of 122 billion baht to be used in the digital wallet project, preparing to present to the Cabinet tomorrow.

Mr. Chalermphon Pensutta, Director of the Budget Office Revealed that the meeting of the State Fiscal Policy Committee No. 3/2024, chaired by Prime Minister Settha Thavisin, approved the preparation of an additional budget for fiscal year 2024 to be used in the project. Top up 10,000 baht via digital wallet. The budget limit is 122,000 million baht. The source of this budget comes from the fact that the government has additional income of 10,000 million baht and will create a budget deficit of 112,000 million baht. After this, it is preparing to present it to the Cabinet meeting. Tomorrow (28 May)

Mr. Phonchai Theerawet, Director of the Fiscal Policy Office, stated that the source of the additional 10,000 million baht in revenue was not additional revenue collected. But it is income that the government already
has. The details will have to wait for submission to the Cabinet for consideration tomorrow first.
