Launch of 10 million cc blood donation project to honor His Majesty the King

Government House, The Prime Minister launched a blood donation project of 10,000,000 cc to honor His Majesty the King on the auspicious occasion of his 6th cycle birthday anniversary on July 28, 2024, to offer as royal merit.

Mr. Settha Thavisin, Prime Minister, presided over the opening ceremony of the project ‘Donate 10,000,000 cc. of blood to honor His Majesty the King on the auspicious occasion of His Majesty the King’s 6th cycle birthday anniversary on 28 July 2024’, with Mr. Pirapan Salirathavibhaga, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Mr. Chakrabongse Sangmanee, Minister attached to the Prime Minister’s Office, Mr. Sermsak Pongpanich, Minister of Tourism and Sports, Ms. Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol, Minister of Culture, Mr. Somsak Thepsuthin, Minister of Public Health, Pol. Gen. Permpoon Chidchob, Minister of Education and the delegation also present.

Mr. Chakraphong reported that the government organized this project to honor His Majesty the King, as well as to support the solution to the sh
ortage of blood reserves of the Thai Red Cross Society and to enhance the awareness of doing good with the heart, knowing how to be a giver, and creating public awareness in helping society. There are 65 units participating in the project, starting from January 2024 and continuing until December 2024, with a target of donating 10,000,000 cc of blood by December 2024.

The Prime Minister said that he was delighted to preside over the opening ceremony of the 10,000,000 cc. blood donation project to honor His Majesty the King on the auspicious occasion of His Majesty the King’s 6th cycle birthday anniversary on July 28, 2024. The year 2024 is an auspicious year in which all Thai people will be able to show their loyalty and gratitude for His Majesty’s immeasurable kindness. The government has implemented projects and activities on the auspicious occasion of His Majesty the King’s 6th cycle birthday anniversary, which is 72 years old, by using His Majesty the King’s royal initiatives and policies as guidelines fo
r implementing various projects to develop the quality of life of Thai people to be happy and well-off in general. The blood donation project will support the resolution of the shortage of blood reserves of the Thai Red Cross Society and create awareness of doing good deeds with heart by being a giver and a public-minded person who helps society.

The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to government agencies and the Thai Red Cross Society for jointly organizing projects that create value and strengthen a giving society. On this auspicious occasion, he invited civil servants, government officials, and the general public to join in donating blood to offer merit to His Majesty the King and continue His Majesty the King’s royal intentions. He also thanked everyone who donated blood, as everyone’s blood will help save the lives of fellow human beings. After that, the Prime Minister walked around to encourage the officials and those who donated blood.

The Prime Minister then visited and gave encouragement to o
fficials and blood donors inside the Santi Maitri Building, outside Government House.

On the other hand, Tingnote Thitiphong Warokorn, a famous race car driver, one of the blood donors in the 10,000,000 cc blood donation project, said that he was happy to be a part of the 10,000,000 cc blood donation project. He himself had not donated blood for 10 years, so he felt a little excited, but he made it through. He also thanked them for having such a good project.

Personally, I feel that I was born once in my life to do something to honor His Majesty the King. I feel happy.

We would like to invite people who are physically ready to join in donating blood because Thailand still lacks a lot of blood to help many other people.
