The Immigration Bureau has expanded its investigation from the case in which Khlong Tan Police Station officers arrested five suspects who robbed a British trader.

From the case of the Khlong Tan Police Station joining forces to arrest Mr. Abdullahi, a Danish national, Mr. Shafiq Samya, an English national, Mr. Ahmed Saeed Yasin, an English national, Mr. Hassian Mohamed Hassan Sheikh, an English national, and Ms. Samya after they tricked a young British crypto trader into extorting money at a mansion in the Phra Khanong area before tying him up and brutally beating him, both punching and shocking him with electricity, and stealing luxury watches, credit cards, and cash, totaling more than 3 million baht, before arresting 3 suspects with evidence at a pool villa in Chonburi Province, as previously reported.

Today (July 16), Pol. Lt. Col. Panthana Nuchnarat, Deputy Commissioner of the Immigration Bureau, said that the Immigration Bureau has jointly investigated and followed up with Khlong Tan Police Station
to arrest the suspect. After knowing the name, surname, and other information after the arrest warrant was issued, the information was entered into the Biernetric system to search for the suspect. This system is a system for checking people entering the country at the airport and watching out for dangerous people. The first suspect is Abdullahi. The officers followed him to a hotel in South Pattaya since midnight and asked the hotel staff if he was staying there. When they confirmed that he was, the officers stayed until morning and arrested the first suspect. The officers searched the suspect’s bag and found the victim’s watch and the key to a pool villa. They asked where the other friends were, but the victim refused to tell them. So they detained the suspect and sent the officers to the pool villa, which was not far from the first suspect’s residence. When they arrived, the officers contacted the officers at the pool villa to confirm. Then they lay in wait until 3-4 hours later when a car drove to the hote
l and the officers immediately arrested them. They were Mr. Hussein Mohamed Hassan Sheekh and Mr. Ahmed Saeed Yasin, British nationals. At the time of the arrest, the two suspects did not resist. From the inspection, it was found that both of them were carrying knives and brass knuckles and a watch belonging to the victim was found, so they gathered the evidence and took the three suspects to Khlong Tan Police Station.

As for the 4th suspect, once they knew who he was, they registered him in the information system until they found out that he was traveling abroad. They tracked him down and arrested him at Suvarnabhumi Airport Immigration, where they were able to apprehend him. A search of his luggage found 50 vacuum-sealed bags of cannabis buds, each weighing approximately 25 kilograms, including the packaging. They worked with customs officials and the Office of the Narcotics Control Board at Suvarnabhumi Airport to arrest him for attempting to export controlled herbs (cannabis buds) without permission and
attempting to export goods that had not yet gone through customs procedures, according to the Customs Act, Sections 242, 166, 167, and 252 of the 2017 Customs Act, before taking him to the investigation officer at Suvarnabhumi Airport Police Station for legal proceedings.

The remaining suspects were charged with 7 counts, including joint robbery with weapons / jointly causing physical or mental harm to others / jointly coercing others with weapons to do or not do something, or to submit to something by making them fear that it will harm the life, body, freedom, reputation or property of the coerced person by using force until the coerced person has to do or not do that or to submit to that thing, jointly detaining or confining others or doing something to deprive others of their physical freedom / jointly extorting with weapons to threaten / jointly taking away other people’s documents / and jointly carrying weapons in a city, village or public road without reasonable cause, and sent to the investigation off
icer at Khlong Tan Police Station for further legal action.

Initially, all 4 people have been detained at the Bangkok South Criminal Court. As for the other suspect who escaped, his real name and surname are now known. Khlong Tan Police Station is currently correcting the name on the arrest warrant. It is expected that an arrest warrant will be issued in Thailand within 1-2 days and coordination will be made with the destination country to send him to Thailand for prosecution.
