DSI, DSI filed charges under Section 157 of former BAAC officials in corruption cases against the Krabi Oil Palm Farmers Cooperative and their associates, a total of 5 people.

Yesterday (June 12) at 1:00 p.m., Mr. Panop, a former official of the Bank for Agriculture and Krabi Agricultural Cooperatives, came to meet with the Special Investigation Team No. 56/2567 according to a summons to the accused to acknowledge the charges. In the case of corruption in the Krabi Oil Palm Farmers Cooperative Limited, the investigation team has informed the facts about the alleged actions of Mr. Panop. The accused has committed an offense of being a government official by acting or refraining from acting in any way in his position or duty or using his power in his position or duty illegally. According to the Criminal Code Section 157 and the Organic Act on Prevention and Suppression of Corruption B.E. 2018, Section 172

However, in the same case this morning, a special investigation team has filed charges against the compan
y’s directors and operators. Krabi Wiset Palm Oil Co., Ltd., consisting of 4 people, consisting of Mr. Nithinai, Mr. Samreng, Mr. Chom and Mr. Yutthana. All 5 accused have denied. The Special Case Investigation Team has therefore given the 5 accused an opportunity to provide facts and explain evidence. They will prove their innocence according to the legal procedures. The five accused will make an explanation and submit documentary evidence to the Special Case Investigation Team within 30 days.

This case follows the Department of Special Investigation’s investigation into Special Case No. 215/2022. The investigation found that government officials were involved in corruption. Therefore, the investigation report has been sent to the NACC to consider taking action according to its authority and duties. Later, the NACC passed a resolution sending the matter to special case investigators for action. According to the Organic Act on Prevention and Suppression of Corruption, B.E. 2018, Section 61, paragraph two, wh
ich the Director-General of the Department of Special Investigation approved to accept as Special Case No. 56/2023 and assigned the Special Case Operations Division to be responsible for taking action. Investigate according to law.
