Pol. Maj. Gen. Noppasin Poolsawat, deputy commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, along with Pol. Maj. Gen. Thiradej Thamsuthee, commander of the investigation division of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, along with the Metropolitan Police Investigation Unit, Metropolitan Police Investigation Unit 4, and Prawet Police Station Investigation Unit, held a meeting to follow up on the progress of the case of two robbers who stole 3.3 million baht in cash from a parking lot of a famous shopping mall in the Phatthanakan area before fleeing.

Pol. Col. Noppasin said that from the investigation, it was found that there were 2 perpetrators in total, with an arrest warrant issued for 1 person. They are Mr. Nanthaphon, aged 35, or nicknamed “Ball Pak Waeng”, who used a gun to threaten the victim while he was withdrawing money
from 3 banks. Then, another accomplice came to receive the money and drove away.

The behavior of this group of criminals was found to be well-planned. They came to open a hotel room in the area where the incident occurred 1 day before committing the crime and on the day of the incident, they parked their car and waited for about 1 hour before the victim came to withdraw the money.

From the investigation, it was found that Mr. Ball Pakwaeng’s history had been prosecuted many times for serious crimes. In 2008, he was prosecuted for robbery and indecent assault. He was released from prison at the beginning of 2023. Then in December 2023, he committed robbery and rape. He used the method of ambushing the victim, a student riding a motorcycle with her boyfriend. He robbed her and took her to rape her. This led to an arrest warrant being issued in the Chokchai Police Station area. He was still evading the arrest warrant until he committed this crime.

Pol. Col. Noppasin reiterated that this suspect is considered
a dangerous person. When the police arrested him in 2008, the suspect had used a gun to resist officers. However, it is now known that the suspect has fled to the east. Therefore, he has ordered the investigation team to hunt him down. He also asked his brothers and friends who know the suspect to help. If found, he will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

As for another accomplice, evidence is being collected to request an arrest warrant. As for whether there are other people involved, this is still under investigation. However, the police believe that there are likely others, as the plan was well-planned. However, they are not yet able to disclose the details, fearing that the perpetrators will react in time and flee.

For the 3.3 million baht that the victim withdrew, the police are currently investigating the owner’s financial path to determine what business the money came from and what the money was used for. They confirmed that they will do everything possible to investigate the facts of th
is case.

Pol. Lt. Col. Thiradech said that he would like to ask the investigation team that must go out to perform their duties in this case to be extra careful in their work in arresting this suspect because he is a suspect who has been resisting the police the whole time. However, if the suspect still thinks of resisting, decisive action must be taken immediately.
