“Anutin” leads executives of the Ministry of Interior to monitor the water situation in Phetchaburi

“Anutin” leads executives of the Ministry of Interior to monitor the flood situation in Phetchaburi, urging the provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department to be ready to provide assistance to the public in emergencies, and to monitor flooding 24 hours a day.

Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Acting Deputy Prime Minister and Acting Minister of Interior, visited the area to monitor the situation of the Phetchaburi River level and inspect the condition of machinery and disaster relief vehicles of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) and met and gave encouragement to the DDPM officers of Phetchaburi Province. They were joined by Mr. Suttipong Juljarern, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Mr. Pongrat Phiromrat, Director-General of the Department of Public Works and Town and Country Planning, Mr. Arsit Sampantharat, Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration, Mr. Chaiwat Junthiraphong, Director-General of the DDPM, Mr. Natthachai Nampoonsuksan, Gove
rnor of Phetchaburi Province, heads of government agencies, executives of local administrative organizations, and relevant persons.

Mr. Anutin and his team listened to a report on the Phetchaburi River level from Mr. Wirach Penchan, Chief of the Phetchaburi Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office. They then watched a demonstration of rescue operations to help people affected by flooding, using rescue equipment, mobile water generators, and equipment prepared for rescue operations to ensure that people are confident in the rescue equipment and assistance from the Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office.

Mr. Anutin said that since it is currently the flood season and Phetchaburi Province has the Phetchaburi River flowing through Mueang District and many other districts, if there is continuous heavy rain, the water level may increase. People living along the riverbank or along the river may be affected by flooding. Therefore, it is very important to closely monitor the water situation
so that all parties can be vigilant. All government agencies, especially the Phetchaburi Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, must be prepared, frequently check the condition of equipment, machinery, and personnel to be ready at all times in order to be able to help people if a flood occurs.
