Udon Thani, July 5 – Police summoned a 54-year-old woman, a former daughter-in-law, for questioning in connection with the fatal green water incident, and took her for drug testing and fingerprints to compare with the perpetrator’s fingerprints on the green water bottle.

In the case of Mrs. Sarinee, aged 54, who drank two bottles of green soda that someone had left in front of her house, causing her to foam at the mouth and later die. As for Mr. Supachai, aged 37, her son, he drank the same bottle of green soda, but his symptoms were not severe. He helped himself by sticking his hand down his throat to vomit, but he was unable to save his mother. By the time Mr. Thawan, aged 53, her husband, returned from setting up a fish net in the middle of the rice field behind the house, he found his wife foaming at the mouth and unable to speak. Worse still, there was no car to take her to the hospital. By the time they could notify her relatives to bring a car to take his wife to the hospital, Mrs. Sarinee had alread
y died. The incident occurred in the middle of the night on July 2.

After the incident, police took Ms. Sarinee’s body to Srinagarind Hospital for an autopsy to find toxic substances before returning the body to Wat Thung Sawang in Tambon Ubon Mung, Amphoe Nong Wua, Udon Thani Province, for religious ceremonies.

Udon Thani police held a meeting with the investigation team and divided into two working groups to search for witnesses in the area who are suspected of being involved, especially the daughter-in-law and witnesses from neighbors.

The police have set up two motives: 1. Conflict within the family, which is a problem with the daughter-in-law. As for the daughter-in-law who is a suspect, the police are currently tracking her down for questioning because after arguing with the family she disappeared from the house. However, we have information that she is still wandering around the village. 2. Conflict with neighbors because the deceased’s family is homeless and has no fixed address.

The reporter trav
eled to the scene and checked the CCTV footage of the house next to the road, approximately 100 meters before the scene. It was found that between 8:18 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., four motorcycles drove past the deceased’s house. It is believed that one of the motorcycles was a villager’s motorcycle that went fishing and Mr. Thawan asked for help. Some of the motorcycles may have been suspicious vehicles that caused the incident. Then, at 12:09 a.m., a motorcycle drove into the village. At 12:44 a.m., an ambulance from Ubon Muang Subdistrict Municipality was seen driving to the scene.

Later, reporters traveled to Nong Wua So Police Station because police had invited the deceased’s husband and son, as well as Ms. Nong, age 34, the former daughter-in-law, for further questioning, along with taking fingerprints to compare with the perpetrator’s fingerprints on the green water bottle.

The husband of the deceased said that he did not suspect his son, but his daughter-in-law did. However, he had never seen the deceased
and his daughter-in-law quarrel. However, the daughter-in-law liked to wander around and was not a housewife. He only went out to catch fish and cook for her. He had lived with the deceased for 3 years. The deceased was a schoolmate, they studied together, and became husband and wife. He felt sorry. After this, he would return to live in his own home.

The son of the deceased said that there were 3 dogs in the house. They would bark at strangers and sometimes at the owner of the house. On the day of the incident, he did not hear the dogs barking at all. He assumed that it was someone the dogs were familiar with. He and his wife would often argue about his wife who liked to go out and wander around. She had been missing from home for many days. He did not know where she went or who she was with. His mother and his wife would argue and argue about his wife who liked to go out, did not do housework, and did not take care of the family. However, their arguments were not serious and they would make up as usual. Hi
s wife would say that she was not angry at her mother at all. As for the green soda, her mother would definitely not buy it because she did not like soda.

The results of the examination of the body of the deceased will be known in about 30 days. Then they will be used to find out who bought the soda from the village grocery store or a nearby convenience store. It is also unknown whether the unopened soda contains the same toxins. The police forensic science will have to examine the evidence again. At the same time, they will have to verify the fingerprints on the soda bottle to see if they match anyone’s fingerprints
